It's not called Mecca for no reason - when the home of all things beauty releases their own line of makeup, you just know you've got to get your hands on it.
I'm trying to be 'good' at the moment - so I held off a whole four days after Mecca Max officially launched before I decided to indulge. I even took a few things out of my cart right before I checked out, which personally I think is just as good as not buying anything.
The Mecca Max range is full of essential face products and tools, all for a super affordable, cheaper than most other things in Mecca, price.
If you've come over from my Instagram, then you know that I was persuaded by the lines sweet packaging. I know I'll love using the product if I love looking at it sitting on my desk. So there's no denying that the range looks good, but how does it fair against by everyday staples?
We all know I have wayyyy too many blushes, but I've always been missing an orange blush. When I saw Gold Glow I knew it was exactly what my collection was missing.
Unfortunately once I opened the gorgeous compact, I was a little bit disappointed. It's fair to say, IRL this blush looks nothing like the image on the website, and it's FULL OF GLITTER. I definitely don't mind a shimmery blush, but it's not something I'd wear every day.
So I think that this will be a blush for special occasions, or for when I want to fake that European glow.
If you don't clean your brushes at least every two weeks - then you really should be. It definitely fits in the list with changing your bed sheets and emptying the dishwasher, but it's something that needs to be done.
I've recently purchased a silicone cleansing pad to use with my favourite Simple Facewash (which has revolutionised my skincare routine), so when I saw this cleansing pad, I decided to give it a go. I must admit the colour and cute lil silicone hearts did help win me over.
This cleansing pad helped me halve my cleaning and rinsing time so I full on love this thing. I almost even love it enough to clean my brushes weekly, so yeah I like it a lot.
I'm lucky enough to have normal-type skin, meaning that I sit smack-bang in the middle of dry and oily. I usually tend to wear satin finish foundations, so by the end of a long day I can start to look a little bit more than glowy. So I am partial to using a mattifying primer, just to help everything stay in place for a little bit longer.
I'm yet to try this one out but I'll be sure to let you all know if I don't think it's any good.
I love a freebie - so I was delighted to see this mini highlighter when I opened up my order. There's no denying that this isn't a universal shade. On someone of my skintone, this will probably only work as a shimmery blush or an eyeshadow and to be honest, I'm happy with that!
Now, cya gotta go look at the rest of the range...
